LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - Schools in multiple districts will close as of Monday, Mar. 4 after extensive storm damage in the area.
Talbot County Schools will be closed until further notice. They say they are working closely with the Emergency Management System, the Red Cross and Talbot County Law Enforcement.
Assistant Superintendent of Lee County Schools Jason Wright has confirmed that the school district will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as they assess storm damage.
Lee County Schools will re-open to students on Tuesday, Mar. 12 and staff will return on Monday, Mar. 11.
Assistant Superintendent of Harris County School District Justin Finney has confirmed the schools will re-open Wednesday, Mar. 6.
In a Facebook post, the Harris County School District said it is unsafe to run bus routes due to road closures and downed power lines.
